HUBUNGAN KEPUASAN PERNIKAHAN DAN KESEHATAN MENTAL DENGAN GEJALA DEPRESI PATERNAL PADA PERIODE KEHAMILAN

Abstract

Depresi paternal adalah bidang minat baru yang mulai dikenal dalam penelitian. Depresi paternal terjadi  pada trimeseter I kehamilan hingga tahun pertama pascapersalinan dengan prevalensi lebih tinggi yaitu 13,3% pada trimester ketiga kehamilan pasangannya. Depresi paternal ini berhubungan dengan gejala depresi pada pasangan, risiko depresi pada periode kehamilan dari pihak ayah menjadi jauh lebih tinggi bila pasangan mengalami depresi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan antara kepuasan pernikahan dan kesehatan mental dengan gejala depresi paternal pada periode kehamilan. Metode  penelitian ini adalah survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini merupan rapid survey yang dilakukan pada bulan September – Oktober 2023 di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia. Sejumlah 45 responden direkrut menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Hasil menunjukkan prevalensi gejala depresi paternal sebesar 15.6%. Gejala depresi paternal tidak berhubungan dengan kepuasan pernikahan (p-value=0.242) namun berhubungan dengan kesehatan mental (p-value=0.026) dengan arah korelasi negatif dan kekuatan r=0.331. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan penting untuk melakukan skrining dini dan akurat terhadap gejala depresi pada suami untuk mengetahui adanya gangguan kesehatan mental selama masa transisi menjadi ayah, yang hingga saat ini sebagian besar hanya berfokus pada perempuan.
