Abstract

Penelitian Unicef di Indonesia pada tahun 2015 yang dilaksanakan pada 1402 peserta pada 16 sekolah di 4 provinsi di Indonesia menyebutkan bahwa ketidakcukupan pengetahuan tentang menstruasi, siklus menstruasi dan MKM berakibat pada kurangnya persiapan pada saat menstruasi pertama, miskonsepsi tentang pembuangan sampah pembalut, dan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang bagaimana mengelola menstruasi dengan aman di Sekolah. Melihat pentingnya informasi manajemen kebersihan saat menstruasi maka dilakukan penyluhan kepada remaja putri di SMP Swasta Nurul Ilmi. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) dilakukan dengan ceramah, dan demonstrasi menggunakan video. Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa informasi yang diberikan memberikan dampak positif pada remaja. Dimana remaja memiliki perubahan sikap setuju bahwa mengganti pembalut 3-4 jam sekali perlu untuk dilakukan saat menstruasi, karena dapat menghindari terjadinya infeksi pada bagian kelamin.  Pemberian informasi kesehatan dapat memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan remaja tentang manajemen saat menstruasi.
