Abstract

Kekurangan vitamin A meningkatkan resiko anak menjadi rentan terkena penyakit infeksi seperti infeksi saluran pernafasan atas, campak dan diare. Diantara anak-anak pra sekolah diperkirakan terdapat sebanyak 6-7 juta kasus baru xeropthalmia (buta senja) tiap tahun, kurang lebih 10% diantaranya menderita kerusakan kornea. Tujuan PKM ini adalah memberikan informasi dan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu yang memiliki balita tentang pentingnya pemberian Vitamin A pada balita. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan kesehatan dengan menggunakan power point kepada ibu yang memiliki balita sebanyak 15 Desa Sihuik-huik, Kecamatan Angkola Selatan. Hasil dari kegiatan penyuluhan ini dilanjutkan dengan memberikan evaluasi kedapa ibu yaitu tanya jawab seputar materi vitamin A dan manfaat vitamin A, Ibu dapat menjawab dan menjelaskan dengan baik pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh penyuluh/pemateri. Kegiatan PKM yang dilaksanakan berjalan dengan baik dan ibu hamil yang mengikuti kegiatan terlihat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan
