Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit kronis yang memerlukan pengelolaan berkelanjutan melalui edukasi, pemantauan kadar gula darah, dan perubahan gaya hidup. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini dilaksanakan di rumah warga Padang Matinggi, Kota Padangsidimpuan, pada 26 Oktober 2024. Penyuluhan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pengendalian DM melalui metode ceramah dan demonstrasi pemeriksaan kadar gula darah, dengan partisipasi 10 orang warga yang beragam usia. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa beberapa peserta memiliki kadar gula darah tinggi yang memerlukan penanganan lanjutan, terutama peserta dengan kadar gula di atas batas normal (140 mg/dL). Penyuluhan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai risiko dan langkah preventif DM, serta pentingnya pola hidup sehat. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat terus dilaksanakan secara berkala sebagai upaya pencegahan dan pemantauan kesehatan masyarakat.
