Abstract

Tuberkulosis merupakan masalah kesehatan global dengan Indonesia menduduki posisi kedua dunia dalam beban penyakit ini. Puskesmas Pasir Jaya mencatat 110 kasus pada tahun 2024, menunjukkan prevalensi signifikan yang memerlukan intervensi edukasi komprehensif. Menganalisis efektivitas penyuluhan kesehatan tentang pencegahan tuberkulosis dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa SMP Negeri 3 Kecamatan Cikupa. Penelitian quasi-experimental dengan desain pre-post test melibatkan 30 siswa. Intervensi berupa penyuluhan selama 60 menit menggunakan ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, dan distribusi leaflet edukasi. Terjadi peningkatan dramatis pengetahuan dari kategori rendah 60% menjadi 3,3%, sedangkan kategori tinggi meningkat dari 6,7% menjadi 66,7%. Rata-rata skor meningkat dari 48,3 menjadi 84,6 (p<0,05). Program penyuluhan kesehatan terbukti sangat efektif meningkatkan literasi kesehatan tuberkulosis siswa. Integrasi program edukasi berkelanjutan dalam kurikulum pendidikan formal sebagai strategi pencegahan primer yang cost-effective.

ABSTRACT

Tuberculosis represents a global health problem with Indonesia ranking second worldwide in disease burden. Puskesmas Pasir Jaya recorded 110 cases in 2024, indicating significant prevalence requiring comprehensive educational intervention. To analyze the effectiveness of health education about tuberculosis prevention in improving knowledge among students of SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa District. Quasi-experimental study with pre-post test design involving 30 students. Intervention consisted of 60-minute health education using interactive lectures, group discussions, and educational leaflet distribution. Dramatic improvement occurred from low knowledge category 60% to 3.3%, while high category increased from 6.7% to 66.7%. Mean scores improved from 48.3 to 84.6 (p<0.05). Health education program proved highly effective in improving students' tuberculosis health literacy. Integration of continuous educational programs in formal education curriculum as cost-effective primary prevention strategy.
