Penguatan Budidaya Cabai Berkelanjutan melalui Pengendalian Hama dan Penyakit Berbasis Potensi Lokal

Budidaya cabai di Desa Tanjung Pering, Kecamatan Indralaya Selatan, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, menghadapi dua permasalahan utama, yaitu serangan hama lalat buah dan penyakit layu fusarium yang menyebabkan penurunan hasil serta mutu panen. Kondisi ini mendorong ketergantungan petani terhadap pestisida kimia yang berisiko terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas petani dalam pengendalian hama dan penyakit berbasis hayati melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna yang sederhana, murah, dan ramah lingkungan. Metode kegiatan mencakup lima tahap, yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis pembuatan dan aplikasi perangkap kuning (yellow trap) serta agen hayati Bacillus spp., penerapan teknologi di lahan petani, pendampingan dan evaluasi efektivitas, serta perencanaan keberlanjutan program melalui replikasi mandiri dan penyusunan panduan bergambar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kedua teknologi tersebut menurunkan intensitas serangan hama dan penyakit lebih dari 60% serta meningkatkan hasil panen cabai hingga 30%. Selain itu, pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam pengendalian hayati meningkat secara signifikan, yang ditunjukkan oleh kemampuan mereka memproduksi dan menerapkan teknologi secara mandiri. Program ini juga berhasil membentuk lahan demonstratif sebagai model pengendalian terpadu. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya dalam aspek pertanian berkelanjutan, kesehatan masyarakat, dan penguatan kelembagaan petani.
