Abstract

Topik terkait menstruasi masih dianggap sebagai hal yang tabu dan memiliki  stigma negatif dan seringkali sulit untuk mempraktikkan kebersihan menstruasi yang optimal bagi remaja dan orang dewasa di berbagai negara dan wilayah. Pendidikan mengenai kesehatan terutama sistem reproduksi, sangat perlu untuk diperhatikan oleh segenap kalangan, termasuk para orang tua maupun remaja itu sendiri. Pengetahuan yang kurang tentang kesehatan reproduksi sering berpengaruh terhadap masalah kesehatan reproduksi yang dihadapi remaja. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswi terkait dengan menstruasi, gangguan menstruasi, siklus menstruasi, perawatan genitalia saat menstruasi, pemeliharaan personal hygiene, serta meningkatkan motivasi siswi dalam menjaga kesehatan reproduksi saat menstruasi. kegiatan penyuluhan kesehatan dilakukan pada remaja putri di SMA N 5 kota Padangsidimpuan Sumatera Utara. Jumlah siswa yang mengikuti acara yaitu sekitar 50 orang. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan selama 2 jam pada  hari  Jum’at  19 November 2021 pukul 10.00 - 12.00 WIB. Bentuk   kegiatan   yang   dilakukan yaitu penyuluhan kesehatan dan demonstrasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini berupa ceramah dengan menggunakan slide power point. Hasil kegiatan pemberian informasi terkait  menstruasi dan permasalahannya sebagai salah satu perawatan kesehatan reproduksi pada siswi SMA N 5 berhasil dilaksanakan. Disarankan agar legiatan pemberian informasi terkait  menstruasi dan permasalahnnya   sebagai   salah   satu   perawatan kesehatan reproduksi pada  remaja dapat   dilakukan   secara   berkala   dengan frekuensi yang lebih sering dan jangkauan penyebaran informasinya juga dapat diperluas    sehingga mencakup seluruh lapisan masyarakat agar remaja dan masyarakat lebih  mengetahui dan dapat meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat.
