Abstract

Merujuk pada data GLOBACON 2020 kematian karena kanker paru di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan sebesar 18 persen selama dua tahun terakhir, menjadi 30.843 orang dengan kasus baru mencapai 34.783 kasus. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan edukasi kepada siswa SMPN 3 Padangsidimpuan terkait pencegahah kanker paru. Kegiatan ini dilakukan selama 1 jam pada hari jum’at 26 november 2021. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah siswa SMPN 3 Padangsidimpuan. Metode yang diberikan ini berupa materi edukasi tentang kanker paru dan kegiatan ini dilakukan dikelas. Hasil yang didapatkan setelah kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah peningkatkan pengetahuan dan semangat siswa di SMP Negeri Padangsdimpuan tentang bahaya kanker paru. Diraharapakan kegiatan ini dapat menambah wawasan siswa terkait  kanker paru serta mencegahan factor risiko kanker paru seperti merokok.
