Abstract

ABSTRAK

Kesehatan gigi merupakan bagian integral dari kesehatan secara keseluruhan yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup. Gigi dan mulut dikatakan sehat apabila memiliki oral hygiene yang baik, yaitu kondisi gigi dan mulut yang bebas dari debris, plak, serta kalkulus. Seorang anak masih belum menyadari arti penting menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dengan cara selalu menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulutnya, sehingga menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut anak harus mendapat perhatian orang tua. Apabila kesehatan gigi dan mulut buruk, misalnya terdapat karies dan gingivitis akan menyebabkan fungsi pengunyahan menjadi tidak optimal, sehingga menyebabkan penurunan berat badan anak. Penyuluhan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan praktek sikat gigi yang benar yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dan anak-anak Sd negeri 200413. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan di Sd Negeri 200413 Tinjoman pada hari Rabu 23 November 2022. Materi penyuluhan yang di sampaikan oleh pemateri dan moderator menggunakan media yang berupa vidio dan power point tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pada saat kegiatan berlangsung anak-anak Sd dan pemateri terjadi interaksi yang berkaitan dengan tema yang disampaikan Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anak sekolah tentang menyikat gigi yang benar. Pelaksanaan edukasi dan praktik sikat gigi pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini selain menggunakan metode penyuluhan juga dilakukan pemutaran video cara sikat gigi yang benar. Hal ini untuk memperkuat pengetahuan yang dimiliki siswa. Penyuluhan sikat gigi ini, mengajarkan kepada anak-anak bahwa menyikat gigi itu sangatlah penting, menyikat gigi pagi dan malam efektif membunuh kuman di dalam gigi dan mulut. Kegiatan penyuluhan yang dilakukan mahasiswa kepada anak-anak Sd 200413 Tinjoman mengenai menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar terlaksana dengan baik. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini sangat di respon baik oleh kepala sekolah Sd negeri 200413 Tinjoman serta guru-guru dan anak-anak Sd negeri 200413 Tinjoman tersebut. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anak-anak Sd Negeri Tinjoman mengenai pentingnya menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar.

ABSTRACT Dental health is an integral part of overall health that can affect quality of life. Teeth and mouth are said to be healthy if they have good oral hygiene, namely the condition of the teeth and mouth that are free of debris, plaque, and calculus. A child still does not realize the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and mouth by always keeping his teeth and mouth clean, so that maintaining the cleanliness of his teeth and mouth must receive the attention of parents. If oral and dental health is poor, for example, there is caries and gingivitis, it will cause the masticatory function to not be optimal, causing a decrease in the child's weight. This counseling uses the lecture, question and answer method and correct tooth brushing practices which are carried out by students and children of the 200413 public elementary school. The counseling is held at the 200413 Tinjoman Public Elementary School on Wednesday 23 November 2022. The counseling material delivered by the speaker and moderator uses media in the form of videos and power points about oral health. During the activity, the elementary school children and the presenters had an interaction related to the theme presented. This community service activity aims to increase school children's knowledge about proper tooth brushing. Good and correct toothbrush behavior can help reduce the risk of toothache and cavities. The implementation of education and practice of toothbrushing in this community service activity apart from using the counseling method also shows videos on how to brush your teeth properly. This is to strengthen the knowledge that students have. This toothbrush counseling teaches children that brushing their teeth is very important, brushing their teeth morning and night effectively kills germs in the teeth and mouth. The counseling activities carried out by students to the children of SD 200413 Tinjoman regarding proper and proper tooth brushing were carried out well. The head of the Tinjoman 200413 Public Elementary School and the teachers and children of the Tinjoman 200413 Public Elementary School received a very good response to this counseling activity. The result of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the children of SD Negeri Tinjoman about the importance of brushing their teeth properly and correctly.
