Abstract

Menopause merupakan fenomena alami sebagaimana tahap perkembangan lainnya. Seiring dengan peningkatan usia, wanita sering menghadapi berbagai masalah kesehatan. Masalah yang terjadi dapat berupa perubahan fisik maupun psikologis. Salah satunya adalah ketidaksiapan perempuan dalam menghadapi menopasuse. Hasil Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation (SWAN) di Amerika Serikat menunjukkan bahwa masa menopause berhubungan dengan tekanan psikologi, dimana sebanyak 28,9% mengalami stres diawal premenopause, 20,9% pada tahap premenopause, dan 22% pada tahap postmenopause. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan pengetahuan ibu premenopause dengan kesiapan menghadapi menopause. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey analitik dengan pendekatan waktu cross sectional. Tehnik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan menggunakan instrument kuesioner tertutup. Analisa data dengan uji Statistic chi square menggunakan program komputerisasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan kesiapan menghadapi menopause di Desa parigi Kec. Dolok Kab. Padang Lawas Utara dengan nilai p-value 0.020 (p<0.05).
