ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 10 PADANGSIDIMPUAN

ABSTRAK
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang sangat penting yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap siswa diberbagai jenjang pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa Khususnya di Kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Padangsidimpuan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Padangsidimpuan yang terdiri dari 4 kelas yang berjumlah 126 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling sehingga sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 62 orang. Instrumen penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan essay test dan setelah data dikumpulkan maka data tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan dua cara yaitu pertama analisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan analisis data yang kedua adalah analisis statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan rumus uji-t (t-tes). Berdasarkan analisis secara deskriptif diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penguasaan siswa terhadap materi Penguasaan pecahan berada pada kategori “Cukup”. Hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata penguasaan pecahan yang diperoleh dari pengumpulan data mencapai 65,79. Selanjutnya untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa thitung = 14,554 apabila dibandingkan dengan ttabel pada taraf signifikan 95% atau tingkat kesalahan 5% dengan derajat kebebasan (dk) = N – 2 = 62 – 2 = 60, diperoleh ttabel = 1,669. Dengan membandingkan nilai thitung dengan ttabel terlihat bahwa thitung > ttabel yakni 14,554> 1,669. Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut, maka hipotesis yang dirumuskan dalam penelitian ini diterima atau disetujui. Artinya “Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa meningkat dengan adanya pemberian masalah – masalah terbuka pada soal latihan siswa di kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Padangsidimpuan”.
