Abstract

Hipertensi adalah keadaan peningkatan tekanan darah yang memberi gejala berlanjut ke organ target. Di Indonesia prevalensi hipertensi pada lansia meningkat dari tahun 2007 sebesar 24,2 % menjadi 63,8% pada tahun 2013. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui hubungan konsumsi makanan asin dengan kejadian hipertensi pada lansia di Desa Labuhan Labo kota Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei analitik, dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Labuhan Labo kota Padangsidimpuan. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 87 orang. Data dianalisis dengan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan mayoritas lansia mengkonsumsi makanan asin (54%) dan tidak mengalami hipertensi (89,7%). Hasil analisa bivariat menunjukkan ada hubungan kebiasaan konsumsi makanan asin dengan kejadian hipertensi pada lansia di Desa Labuhan Labo kota Padangsidimpuan (ρ=0,027). Disarankan bagi lansia menerapkan konsumsi makanan rendah garam dan tinggi serat untuk mencapai tekanan darah mendekati normal agar tidak terjadi komplikasi yang lebih berat.
