Abstract

Covid-19 adalah penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh tipe baru coronavirus dengan gejala umum demam, kelemahan, batuk, kejang dan diare. Menurut Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) pada 6 April 2020, jumlah penderita di dunia adalah 1.278.523 yang terinfeksi kasus Covid-19. Dari 1,2 juta kasus positif korona, 69.757 (5,46%) pasien CoviďĚ9 telah meninggal dan 266.732 (20,9%) orang telah sembuh dari total kasus positif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui persepsi sosial masyarakat tentang Covid-19.Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Informan dari penelitian ini adalah beberapa masyarakat kota Padangsidimpuan. Model analisa data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan gambaran kesimpulan data atau verifikasi..Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat tentang covid-19 adalah penyebaran virus corona yang diketahui oleh masyarakat sebanyak 52% virus corona dapat menyebar melalui antar hewan ke manusia dan manusia ke manusia. Masyarakat mengetahui informasi dari virus corona melalui media elektronik, media online dan dari orang sekitar mereka. Diharapkan kepada masyarakat untuk mematuhi himbauan yang diinformasikan oleh pemerintah, ini sangat berguna untuk mengatasi penyebaran virus corona dan petugas pelayanan kesehatan lebih aktifdalam melaksanakan program penyuluhan kepada masyarakat tentang informasi virus corona.
