Abstract

Toilet training merupakan upaya melatih anak untuk dapat mengontrol buang air besar dan kecilnya, dimana keberhasilan latihan toilet training dapat dipengaruhi oleh dukungan emosional yang diberikan oleh ibu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan emosional yang diberikan ibu dengan praktik toilet training pada balita. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 96 responden di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Payung Sekaki dengan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah angket dukungan emosional dan praktik toilet training yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis bivariat menggunakan chi-square dan menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara dukungan emosional yang diberikan ibu dengan keberhasilan praktik toilet training pada balita (p value=0,044). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara dukungan emosional yang diberikan ibu dengan praktik toilet training pada balita. Hal ini harus menjadi perhatian para ibu untuk memberikan dukungan emosional yang positif kepada balita agar toilet training anak dapat berhasil.
