Abstract

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut adalah salah satu investasi yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan secara keseluruhan dan berdampak pada kualitas hidup. Hasil survey Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2018,  prevalensi gigi berlubang pada anak usia dini masih sangat tinggi yakni 93% artinya hanya 7% anak Indonesia yang bebas dari karies gigi. Perlunya upaya promotif dan preventif untuk menurunkan angka kepenyakitan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini memberi edukasi kepada siswa untuk dapat menggosok gigi yang baik dan benar dan menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk mencegah timbulnya masalah pada gigi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu ceramah, tanya jawab dan demonstrasi cara menggosok gigi. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu materi penyuluhan dan alat demonstrasi menggosok gigi. Peserta kegiatan  siswa kelas 1 sebanyak 25 orang. Terdapat antusias peserta saat kegiatan berlangsung. Peserta mengetahui manfaat dan cara menggosok gigi. Siswa perlu mendapatkan KIE menggosok gigi yang baik dan benar agar dapat menerapkan perilaku hidup sehat.
